About us

Standing in the middle of our lives, we both – Roger Harlacher and Ronald Haug –- are very concerned with the unequal distribution of wealth and the prospects for life that depend on it. In particular, the continuing lack of clean water in many places around the world gives us pause for thought. Our trips to such disadvantaged regions, for example in Africa, clearly showed us the hardships and dangers that the populations living there have to endure in order to obtain drinking water, most of which is still conta­minated. These emotional experiences led to thoughts and actions: This gave rise to VIVES, because every drop of water counts.

We initiated the idea of VIVES in 2009. Two years later, we put it into practice: we financed the first drinking water project in Senegal with our own funds. Enthusiastic about what we had achieved and highly motivated to realise further projects. In 2014, we established the VIVES Foun­dation (vives.ch) and launched VIVES Mineral Water. We found the ideal partner for this in Mineralquellen Adelboden AG: since then, the financial resources for the realisation of further well projects have come not only from donations, but also from the sale of VIVES Mineral Water.
